Hello Dear Readers :o)

I’m making no claims with regard to this week’s post being either thrilling or epic for the simple reason that for the first time since I started posting regularly I have no idea what I’m going to write about :) I’m simply going to venture forth bravely into new territory, embrace the concept of blogging (which I’ve just discovered is short for weblog) in the classic sense and just type away :)

This is actually perfect timing for such a self-indulgent post as I’m in an introspective frame of mind at the moment. I’ve been contemplating the location of things on many levels and I’m finding many elements of my life woven together in a most pleasing fashion; autumn is settling over Edinburgh, in 8 days time I’ll be 45 years of age and on the same day Kai Greene will compete in the 2011 Mr Olympia contest. With my kilt-wearing birthday photo shoot now postponed I am going to live vicariously through Kai for the day :)

If you’ve been following my FB posts at all you’ll know I’m a huge admirer of Kai; his passion, drive and mental focus are truly inspirational.

See if you can spot him enjoying his copy of Strength Training Anatomy in this one :)

EdinburghI’ve been reflecting on my physical location and appreciating how wonderful the city is; for a personal trainer Edinburgh is a truly remarkable place to live and work. The place is alive with culture and history and provides a constant flow of energy and inspiration both professionally and personally. I really love this city.

I’ve also spent a lot of time considering my physical body; the location of my muscles,

Muscular System

Personal Trainer Edinburghwhere they originate and attach, how they function, which exact movements and angles will stimulate the precise areas I want to target. I’m striving to make each set as complete a meditation on the areas I’m working as possible. This approach is a key component of my rescheduled photo shoot plan; I am going to recreate myself physically and display a better balanced and refined physique than I did in my last shoot.

Overall I’m in a very happy place. The strands that make up my life are beautifully interwoven and I’m incredibly excited about the future :) . Now if only I could manage to sleep more… :)

Footnote: While today’s post may not have been as quite thrilling in content or epic in scope as previous weeks entries it does have an unexpected bonus educational element which I shall now proudly share with you :) . ‘Frame of mind’, the idiom that I used earlier, was first recorded in 1665. The first printed semi colon was the work of Aldus Mantius in 1494 and Ben Johnson, the English Renaissance dramatist, poet and actor was the first English writer to use the semi colon systematically :)
