This one is for my muse – you know who you are
Hello Again Readers
I’m back
When I knocked out my last few posts in a flurry of activity way back in April I didn’t plan on leaving it so long before putting fingers to keyboard but life’s like that sometimes
I’ll warn you now that this post is going to contain no references to personal training in Edinburgh, or anywhere else for that matter
Neither will I be covering anything appertaining to health, fitness, working out or nutrition (though I’ve got a couple of posts in the pipeline on my training and my nutrition)
I will also be making no mention of how for a personal trainer Edinburgh is a wonderful place to live and work, aside from that one of course
I shall instead be updating you all on what I’ve been up to over the last month or so. If that interests you read on, if not I’ll see you next post, metaphorically speaking of course
Any of you who follow my FB posts, which have, I have to say, been fairly rare of late too, will know that my rather hectic life has been even more hectic of late, primarily due to moving home
Thankfully I’m now pretty much settled into my new place and am now slowly recovering from the after effects of moving which unsurprisingly I did in my customary intense fashion
I’d been to Ikea, three times, bought and built several fine storage items and unpacked and organised all my worldly goods into my new room within 48 hours of being here, on top of cleaning out and handing over the old place and training myself and all my clients too
How did I manage this? Er, well, by not really sleeping
Hence the exhaustion
Regular readers of this will know of my ongoing relaxation/sleep/intensity issues
It was most useful during the move to be able to work until very, very late, sleep very little and then do it all over again but I have to say it’s taken its toll and I’m now nursing more than my usual share of aches and pains and finding it all but impossible to sleep for longer than 4 hours
Worry not though things are settling down nicely
I have a splendid new room and a splendid new roomie to go with it, Tim
He’s a very chilled out and easy going guy and we’re getting along excellently
Indeed our home is a picture of domestic harmony
It’s also rather pleasingly situated in the Varcity development which is two minutes from the splendour of Stockbridge. My local supermarket is now Waitrose, which pleases me no end
I also have a giant Sainsbury’s close to hand at Blackhall – I highly recommend the both the Venison and the Bressingham Duck sausages
, Tesco at Broughton Road is on my way home from The Scotsman and the giant Lidl at Granton is on the way home from Thompson’s so my every nutritional desire is easily satisfied
The centre of Stockbridge is also most pleasing. The local Blockbusters had both seasons of Downton Abbey, the local RBS has 3 tellers, all working at the same time, there’s a Cafe Nero and although I’ve yet to pop in The Stockbridge Tap has 7 real ales on draft
To say I am happy with all this is something of an understatement
I’m proud to report that I’m taking good care of myself and am spending some quality time making like a sloth in front of the TV which is quite and novelty for me
I’ve been plundering Tim’s DVD’s, fallen in love with Rose Leslie who plays Igrit in Game Of Thrones and as a side effect I’ve become an enthusiastic fan of Downton Abbey, much to my happy surprise
I’ve watched 2 full seasons and the Xmas special over the course of the last week and am now eagerly awaiting season 3 which is due to air in September
I’ve also eaten very well throughout the entire time and avoided falling into my old habit of eating very little and taking a lot of stimulants
I’ve got another relaxing weekend coming up and next week my training is stepping up a gear again
It’s back to 4 days for me which needless to say I’m very excited about
I’m so excited I’m going to write a full post on this though so I’ll not say any more for now
Instead I’m going to sign off and go and look for some suitably splendid pictures to accompany these latest ramblings
See you all soon
